Lorrie Morgan, John Conlee, Kentucky Headhunters,
David Frizzell, Natalie Howard Perform at Benefit Concert

Lorrie Morgan, John Conlee, the Kentucky Headhunters, and David Frizzell will headline at the second annual Lymphatic Research Foundation (LRF) benefit concert at the Wildhorse Saloon Monday, June 5. Last year’s concert raised more than $25,000 to foster research into a lymph-related illness, lymphedema, that affects thousands of children and adults.

“Lymphedema is a life-altering and sometimes life-threatening disease that causes limbs to enlarge; it’s especially cruel when it strikes small children,” says Calina Burns, vice president of CBuJ Enterprises, an independent Nashville record label and distribution firm. Burns, who is a lymphedema patient and a member of the Board of Directors of LRF, observes “County music artists have been very generous in rallying to help combat this disease.” Other artists scheduled to appear at the benefit concert include Roxie Dean, Deborah Allen and Natalie Howard, among others.

Burns said that as part of the event, a number of Nashville celebrities have donated autographed guitars to be sold at a silent auction that will precede the concert. A guitar signed by Toby Keith, a Charlie Daniels fiddle, memorabilia from Joe Nichols, and other items from artists at the concert, and sports figures, will also be auctioned off.

The concert will be part of the “Monday Madness” program at the Wildhorse, and will be an early introduction for fans to the annual 2006 CMA Music Festival (formerly Fan Fair) in downtown Nashville, which this year runs from June 8 through 11. General admission tickets to the LRF benefit concert are available for $25; VIP tickets, which include pre-concert hors doeuvres and a “meet and greet” with the performing artists, are available for $75. Tickets may be obtained at the Wildhorse Saloon or via Ticketmaster. The show starts at 7 p.m.
